Shiatsu, or "finger pressure", is a traditional Japanese form of bodywork that uses gentle pressure applied to specific areas of the body through a channel system to improve energy, or "Chi" flow and restore the body, mind and spirit to a natural state of balance. It stimulates the healing of injuries and improves systems of poor health such as chronic pain, stress, insomnia and other conditions not effectively treated by Western medical practices. Students will gain an understanding of "Chi", the principles of yin and yang, assessment and palpating skills and will learn a comprehensive Shiatsu 1 protocol to address the feet, legs, arms, shoulders, neck and back. A detailed handout and instructional DVD will be provided to each student.  NCBTMB Approved.
